Waikiki beach is one of the most famous beaches in the world, early morning you will find walkers and joggers taking in the quiet time of the day by midmorning like any typical resort beach you will find it full of holiday makers taking in the atmosphere of the sun and surf that Waikiki beach has to offer.

You can swim, body board, learn to surf, sail and take in other water activities nearly all year round. Not far from the beach region you will find a hub of accommodation along with restaurants and bars to wile away the rest of the day and evening.

If its some shopping and pampering you are after just grab a Honolulu Weekly with coupons and venture around the shopping malls or Kalakaua Avenue where they are selling everything from souvenirs, beach towels and sun cream to the latest designer labels.

Things to do

  • Get up close and friendly with the aquatic delights of Waikiki Aquarium.
  • Learn to surf.
  • Learn about the US army at the Fort DeRussy Military Reservation.
  • Get close up and personal with the animals at Honolulu Zoo.
  • Take a early morning walk or jog along the white sands of Waikiki Beach.
