A relatively recent frenzy of development has seen the once sleepy township of Kihei grow into a bustling middle-ground vacation destination promising economical accommodation, quality dining, family fun times and a happening nightlife.
It abounds with market stalls and souvenir shops so this is the place to pick up last-minute gifts (for those less fortunate!) after a hard day's work sightseeing or simply lazing around.
In addition, beautiful beaches toward the southern end in particular lend themselves to water sports ranging from surfing to snorkeling to swimming - and everything in between. Views from the beaches are especially striking so indulge in some serious sunbathing.
