The distinctive feature of the tiny town of Keokea lies in its Chinese origins of the early 20th century. This is when, in the true spirit of the Hakka Chinese people, the inhospitable region was settled and farmed against all odds.
It now serves a small but flourishing community and is the last stop before Hana on the south side of the island.
