En route to Hana the road narrows and winds through magnificent scenery, snaking across tiny one-lane bridges over steep gullies, gulches and valleys, past precipitous cliffs where waterfalls cascade into cool mountain pools. Verdant vegetation fringes the highway with massive fern trees, bamboo groves and the bright orange blooms of tulip trees which augment the endless greenery.
Here, the tiny gated community of Huelo perches quietly, nestled in the tranquility of its pristine environment. Further afield, every bend reveals increasingly beautiful views.
