Oceanfront, the fully-furnished one and two bedroom units are just 45 steps from the beach. Watch the sunsets from your private deck, and participate in the nightly conch blowing. The Kulakane's oceanfront pool, with it's new dark blue tile, stays at a comfortable temperature all year round. It's only about 20 feet from beach, and usually within a few degrees of the warm surf.
The Kulakane has 42 fully furnished apartment and townhouse suites. First and second floor suites are one-bedroom, one-bath and may accommodate up to four persons. Third floor suites are two-bedroom, two-bath townhouses accommodating up to six persons. All suites have private lanais, living room, dining area, full kitchen, and bath with tub and/or shower. Each suite at the Kulakane is unique because it was decorated and furnished by its individual owner. Kulakane owners typically stay in their own units for at least a month or two each year, so they furnish their units more like homes than vacation rentals.
Entertainment
The gardens around the pool are quiet and inviting. Banana trees on either end of the property ripen frequently, and the owners give them to guests. Every evening, guests are lead in a ceremonial blowing of the conchs to bless the next day with luck and good weather. Friday evening is the no-host Pupu party, a potluck party at the pool. Bring your favorite dish, drink or dessert to share with the other guests. It's a great place to meet other people and to share Maui adventures.
