From Keomuku to Naha the road gets progressively rougher and 4WD is the only way to go on the long-haul 12-mile stretch. It is recommended that only intrepid adventurers should persevere.

Naha, the tiny fishing village on the narrow beach fringed by Kiawe trees is the stuff of myth and legend and the Naha trail, paved over a century ago, appropriately leads to an ancient site of many mysteries.

Things to do

  • Visit the historic fishpond that gave sustenance to the community when times were tough.
  • Take the trail to the old village for an understanding of this remote and isolated culture.
  • Fish in local waters off local turf beneath the canopy of trees at Naha Beach.
