The ‘Private Island’ of Lanai is home to Keomuku via the rugged road from Lana’i City, which is generally immersed in atmospheric cloud and fog drifts over green pastures that once were fertile, but short-lived, sugarcane fields. Natural lookouts offer sightings of lovely coastline, with shipwrecks, rocky outcrops and islands and islets visible in the distance.
The village itself doesn’t lend itself to any tourist activity as such but offers a peek at its hidden secret surrounds.
