McBryde Garden is a veritable Noah's ark for threatened and endangered plants of the tropics. McBryde Garden is situated on the south shore of the Hawaiian island of Kauai. The garden is located in the verdant Lawai Valley.
The site for the McBryde Garden was chosen for the diversity of climate, soils, and topography. The region has a kaleidoscope of distinct micro environments which are cool, hot dry wet, meadow, and cliff face. There are both native and exotic plants, palm and flowering trees, Rubiaceae, heliconias, orchids as well as plants from tropical regions of the world.
