This is where the proverbial ‘east meets west, old meets new’ adage runs true as people of all ages, backgrounds and orientations flock to the lively seaside hub of Kapa’a for a sumptuous taste of the tropics, aloha-style.
The blend of international and traditional is augmented by a constant influx of surfers, travelers, and tourists who easily meld with local legends and ‘new age’ newcomers who come for a day and stay for a lifetime. All is well here but land issues relating to development however remain contentious.
Nonetheless, in keeping with a vibrant transient population Kapa’a offers a selection of affordable accommodation, a fine array of eateries, a diverse range of activities and a happening nightlife – even if it’s of your own making!
