Nihau is the known as the 'forbidden island' a place of mystery to outsiders. The Island is the smallest of the seven inhabited Hawaiian Islands and is a sanctuary for the residents of Nihau. For over a century, access has been limited to those Hawaiian families who work on its privately owned cattle and sheep ranch.
