Kauai is 100 miles northwest of Oahu and the most northern of the six Hawaiian major islands. Kauai has become famous for many reasons. The garden island has amazingly fertile soil where anything will grow, spectacular high cliff tops, and the great gorge of Waimea Canyon with its pristine waterfalls. In a word people call it paradise. Nihau is a private island, mysterious to those who do not live there. It is the smallest inhabited Hawaiian Island with limited access.
