Hamakua Macadamia Nut Company is a small independently owned company. They farm orchards along the Hamakua Coast which is the area where the very first commercial orchards were planted in Hawaii near Waipo Valley in 1881. Generations of Big Island farmers have grown Macadamia nuts in the rich volcanic soils and abundant rainfall of the region.
