The Hawaiian Islands are vibrant, romantic and deliciously surprising. Here you will find the spectacular beaches, wondrous scenery and tropical climate that make Hawai‘i a dream come true destination. |
| 1. Have a Whale of a Time…You shouldn’t miss the sighting of the famous Humpback whale on its home waters in Hawai‘i. These magnificent creatures can be spotted around all of the islands, yet the Big Island - the seasonal home of the Humpback whale - and Maui, with its prime shore viewings, are prime spotting points. Marine mammals you may spot include: Sperm whales, Pilot whales, Pygmy Killer whales, the Melon Headed whales and the Rare Beaked whales. 2. Brave a Volcanic Adventure… Whether you choose to cycle down the summit, hang-glide off it or simply gaze in awe at the thick molten lava flows as you trek along is your decision. One of the most famous natural attractions is the Haleakala National Park on Maui which is also one of the few sites where you can view the outstanding volcanic landscape of the upper slopes of Haleakala. 3. Enjoy a World-Class Round of Golf…There are more than 80 courses to choose from across the Islands of Aloha, offering the ultimate golfing experience. The Kona-Kohala is one of the most spectacular courses with a selection of premier golf resorts next to the Pacific shoreline. Treat yourself to a game at the coastline located Makena Golf Course in Maui - a member of ‘the greatest golf resorts in the world’. 4. Grab a Surf Board… As the birthplace of surfing, Hawai‘i is among the best destinations in the world for catching that perfect wave! If you’re a beginner why not escape to Waikiki beach where the gentle yet consistent waves make it one of the best places to learn, while the more advanced can try the North Shore of O‘ahu which is renowned for its perfect surf. 5. Fly a Kite… But not the way you’re thinking! Hawai‘i’s newest extreme sport, known as Kite Surfing, is the next big thing in the world of exciting water sports. Made famous by the legendary surfer Robbi Naish in Hawai‘i, Kite Surfing is a sport that the islands have mastered and visitors can chose between a host of Kite Surfing schools on Maui’s original Kite Surfing beach, enabling them to return home with a great tan and a whole new skill! 6. Zip Through a Forest… Take your life into your own hands as you sail across the rainforest canopy on a zipline, while taking in a bird's eye view of the fantastic waterfalls and lush vegetation below. A one-of-a-kind adventure that is sure to prove one of the exhilarating highlights of any stay on Kaua‘i or O‘ahu 7. Dive Deep into the Archipelago… And Hawai‘i is the ideal place to spend those marine moments, renowned as it is for its underwater paradise which is continually frequented by spotted eagle rays, turtles and tropical fish. Hanauma Bay on the Big Island has an extinct volcanic crater which has been filled by the ocean and boasts over 450 species of tropical fish, making it a popular local attraction enjoyed by holidaymakers and residents alike. Or, for a dive with a difference, try a night time outing with mantas on the Big Island or snorkel off Maui with dolphins as you explore the sea caves. 8. Take to the Slopes… Hawai‘i’s Mauna Kea (which means White Mountain) on the Big Island is the highest point in Hawai‘i and the highest volcano in all of Oceania, since the base of the volcano is actually on the floor of the Pacific Ocean over 20,000 ft (6,000 m) below sea level. With snow from December to May, it is the perfect place to cool down from the Hawaiian heat and have a snowball fight or, if you are an experienced and adventurous skier, even to try an alternative way down! 9. Remember the Other Half… When you’re whiling away the hours on holiday why not give them a cherished moment in the beautiful blue sky that they will remember forever. Have a go at paragliding and fly side by side whilst experiencing the fabulous views over O‘ahu or Kaua‘i. It makes a great photo opportunity and you can even bring your own Champagne to toast your special occasion in-flight. 10. Kayak Crazy… One of the best ways to explore Hawai‘i’s peaks and canyons, rivers and coastlines is by kayaking down its many sacred trails to discover hidden pools and blue lagoons. History states that Hawai‘i was discovered on a Kayak, so why not have a go yourself. Alternatively, try ‘fluming da ditch’ on the Big Island where you can paddle the Kohala Sugar Plantation irrigation system on a unique ecotourism journey travelling through pristine rain forests, over ravines and waterfalls and through dark, mysterious tunnels. Kaua‘i has another waterway adventure up its sleeve, travelling Lihue’s old sugar cane plantation. Just grab a tube, don a headlamp and jump in! |
