Possibly the best known shopping complex in Hawai‘i is the Ala Moana Centre, located on Ala Moana Boulavard about 15 minutes from the center of Waikiki. The Ala Moana centre has more than 230 stores from Macy’s and Neiman Marcus through to boutique stores and well known brand designers.

Open:
Monday – Saturday from 9.30am – 9pm, Sundays from 10am – 7pm.

Getting There:
  • The Ala Moana centre is easily accessible by Oahu’s transportation system simply called ‘THE BUS’.
  • The Pink Line trolleys run every 15minutes, seven days a week. The cost is $2 each way.

    The Victoria Ward centre is just next door and offers shoppers a whole day of shopping activity with another 120 shops, a multiplex cinema and even a farmers market.

    The BUS will take you from central Waikiki for about US$1.50.

    A little further out of Waikiki and close to Pearl Harbor, is Waikele Premium Outlets, and here you will find bargains galore! Waikele is Hawai’i’s first and only outlet centre. It features over 50 stores from the worlds leading brand names such as Polo Jeans, Banana Republic, Max Mara and Tommy Hilfiger.

    Monday – Saturday 9am – 9pm and Sundays from 10am – 6pm.

    Getting There:
    Waikele is located 30 minutes from downtown Honolulu and transport is available from most hotels in the area.

    Island Shopping Maui is home to ‘The Shops at Wailea’. Some of the shops are positioned right near the ocean and there is a great al fresco feel to the whole complex. The shops at Wailea offer something for everyone with over 65 shops and restaurants. Between 6.30pm – 8.30pm on Wednesday nights WOW Wailea takes place – an evening of live entertainment including Hawaiian music, opera and jazz.

    No visit to Maui is complete without a shopping visit to Whalers village. Whalers Village The Village is also home to some of Maui’s free attractions and activities. The Whalers Village Museum houses artefacts from Lahaina’s whaling days. Kids can participate in lei making and hula dancing and in the evenings you can enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants along with Pacific entertainment. It is home to over 80 stores on the Oceanfront at Kaanapali.

    When staying on Hawai‘i’s Big Island you can shop ‘til you drop at Waikoloa Beach. With over 50 unique shops and boutiques there is something for everyone. There is Hawaiian entertainment nightly, and on Tuesday nights they host ‘Movies under the stars’ at King Keaka ( Keaka meaning theatre in Hawaiian). Kona Village is also home to some great shopping and a wonderful craft shop can be found inside the King Kamehameha Hotel.

    Hilo Hatties is the largest retail source for Hawaiian and Island Lifestyle products. Established in 1963, Hilo Hattie has grown to be one of the most recognized brands in Hawai'i. Here you will find your Aloha shirts and Hawaiian memorabilia to remind you of your trip.
